Specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, our Medical Director leads a highly qualified team of nurses and therapists to provide a coordinated program of care. HealthSouth’s team approach engages rehabilitation experts from many disciplines, including:
Rehabilitation Nursing — Implements each patient’s medical care program as directed by his or her physician
Occupational Therapy — Designs and delivers activity-based therapy to promote independence in the areas of self care, home management and community reintegration
Physical Therapy — Evaluates and designs a treatment program to address limitations in physical function, mobility and safety
Psychology — Provides support services to assist the patient and family in adjusting to the patient's disability
Respiratory Therapy — Ensures proper respiratory function through services such as oxygen supplements and aerosol treatments
Speech-Language Pathology — Assesses and treats individuals with communication and comprehension disorders, cognitive difficulties and swallowing disorders
Dietary and Nutritional Counseling — Supervises all meals to ensure patients receive the necessary nutrition
Case Manager — Coordinates with the physician to ensure the patient’s needs are met and involves the family and other caregivers in the patient’s rehabilitation
Relaxation Therapy — Stress relief can calm a persons mind and body. Learn how to manage stress by using techniques taught by the relaxation therapist. Classes are open to patients, family members and caregivers.
